Do you make yourself attractive for your husband?Feminine attractiveness does not depend on the tone of the skin nor on a perfect bone structure.
An unattractive woman invariably displays negative emotions like anger, resentment, fear, anxiety, shyness, scorn or boredom, while most attractive women have an open face, a warm smile, a sparkle in the eye and a warm spontaneity. It is not for nothing that God advises women to concentrate on their inner beauty (1 Peter 3:4) since this is the basis for outer beauty. Read the rest of this entry »

Do you cleave more to your children than to your husband? The Bible states very clearly that a husband and wife must cleave to each other. Yet it is very easy for a mother to put the needs of her children above the needs of her husband.
Many homes are completely dominated by the activities and schedules of the children. Many a wife has refused to accompany her husband on a business trip, or even go out for an evening because of the demands of the children. Read the rest of this entry »

Is your housekeeping an end in itself?Do you manage your household with the needs of your family in mind, or has it become a showpiece to highlight your own mastery? Janet is a very meticulous housekeeper. The vacuum cleaner is permanently on standby to remove any dirt immediately. The children have to take their shoes off before they may walk into the lounge — and woe her poor husband if he leaves his newspaper lying around, or puts his feet on the coffee table! Her house is not a home — it’s just a spotless building. Read the rest of this entry »

Are you fun to live with? Do you laugh a lot together or does he associate you with complaining? When he suggests doing something or going somewhere do you agree enthusiastically or do you usually express your reservations? What would happen in a school where there was no principal or acting- principal? What would happen to a ship that had no captain? What would happen to a hospital without a medical superintendent? What would happen to a business that had no manager? The answer is easy enough: chaos will reign. Read the rest of this entry »

Retrace your route past the forestry station and turn right onto the tarred road. The tar soon gives way to gravel, and the road winds down to an iron-girder bridge across the Homtini River. After the bridge, the road climbs out of the gorge, passes through farmlands, then drops again to the Karatara River. Read the rest of this entry »

This drive explores one of the most romantic regions in southern Africa — the emerald- green landscape of Knysna, the old gold mines that can still be visited in the forests nearby, and the string of glittering lakes that stretches eastwards from Wilderness. More than half of the route is tarred, and the rest is good gravel. Read the rest of this entry »

When the Railway reached George, after years of delay, the entire town turned out to watch the first train puff into the station. During the festivities, the archdeacon observed that its arrival would be like the kiss of the handsome prince that woke the Sleeping Beauty. Perhaps he was right — there is certainly a fairy-tale quality in a journey by steam train through this fascinating part of the southern Cape. Read the rest of this entry »
